Landscaping in East El Paso, TX

East El Paso has mature landscaping—older trees, established beds, and lawns that have been in for decades. Much of the work here is renovation: updating irrigation, refreshing beds, and selectively xeriscaping without ripping out the good stuff.

The soil is a mix of caliche and sandy loam, and the lots are generally flatter than West El Paso, which makes grading simpler but still matters for monsoon drainage.

Mature trees here mean root competition and shade, which changes what will grow underneath. Local crews choose shade-tolerant and root-tolerant plants for those beds.

East El Paso is in the El Paso Water service area, so address-based watering rules and the xeriscape rebate apply to conversions.
